Alcohol Packaging Design Dubai

Wine, spirits and beer packaging designed for licensed UAE markets. Alcohol packaging has a difficult job. It needs to make the bottle or can look distinctive while carrying the product information, brand identity and packaging details required for its intended market. For brands operating in Dubai and the UAE, packaging also needs to sit within a tightly regulated alcohol market. 10turtle creates alcohol packaging design for legally permitted and appropriately licensed businesses, including wine, spirits, beer and other alcoholic beverage brands. We design the bottle and can identity, labels, cartons, sleeves, packaging systems, product variants and production ready artwork. We design around the requirements supplied by the client and their compliance or regulatory partners. We do not issue regulatory approvals or licenses.

What it is

What is alcohol packaging design?

Alcohol packaging design is the design of the physical presentation of a beverage alcohol product. It covers more than a bottle label. A complete packaging project can include bottle label design, can design, front, back and neck labels, capsule design, carton design, gift packaging, multipack packaging, product naming hierarchy, alcohol content and net quantity presentation, required information, barcode placement, brand identity, product photography or illustration, print specifications, dielines, foil and embossing specifications and production ready artwork.

Alcoholic beverages are permitted within regulated and licensed frameworks in the UAE. Dubai Customs identifies Dubai Police as the controlling authority for alcoholic beverages entering Dubai. Dubai legislation also provides specific permits for activities including importing, re exporting, selling, supplying and serving alcoholic drinks. A packaging project for the Dubai market should be developed around the product classification, intended sales channel, license position and applicable regulatory requirements. We therefore do not treat US TTB requirements as UAE requirements. If your product is being sold in another country, we can instead work from the regulations applicable to that market.

How we work

How we design alcohol packaging

1Product and market briefing

We begin with product category, brand, target market, sales channels, bottle or can format, number of SKUs, product information, existing packaging, competitor set and required regulatory information. For UAE projects, the relevant licensed activity and applicable requirements should be established before final artwork.

2Packaging audit and shelf research

If you already have packaging, we review brand hierarchy, shelf visibility, information hierarchy, label dimensions, variant consistency, typography, colour, finishing and production issues. We also review the competitive environment for category conventions, price positioning and differentiation opportunities.

3Packaging structure and creative direction

We work around the selected bottle, can, label, carton or gift packaging format and develop directions around heritage, modern luxury, minimal, contemporary, craft, premium, bold, natural, artistic or editorial positioning.

4Label and packaging design

Once the direction is selected, we develop the full packaging artwork, including front, back and neck labels, bottle graphics, can artwork, carton, sleeve and gift packaging.

5Required information and range development

We place required product and regulatory information within the packaging hierarchy, then extend the design into a structured product family with colour systems, product naming, variant markers and typography rules.

6Prepress, proof and handoff

Final artwork is prepared with colour mode, bleed, safe areas, dielines, foil and embossing layers, print specifications and barcode placement. Where required, the artwork can be reviewed against a printer proof before production.

Why it matters

Why alcohol packaging design matters

A bottle has only a short moment to communicate its identity, price position and place in a crowded category while still carrying market specific information accurately.

Shelf recognition

Strong hierarchy helps customers recognize the brand quickly on a crowded retail shelf or back bar.

Price positioning

Typography, materials, colour and finishing help establish whether a product feels accessible, premium or luxury.

Range consistency

A strong system allows different products, expressions and sizes to feel related as the portfolio grows, with production ready artwork that reduces avoidable print issues.

Who this is best for

The right fit

Best fit when

A good fit if you are launching a wine, spirits or beer brand, need a premium bottle label or complete alcohol packaging system, are redesigning an existing alcohol label, need multiple SKU or private label packaging, need hospitality branded or corporate gifting packaging, are entering a new legal market, need production ready label artwork, or need Arabic and English packaging design for an applicable UAE project.

You might not need this

This service is not intended for unlicensed alcohol businesses, illegal alcohol distribution, packaging intended to conceal alcoholic products from authorities, products being imported or sold without required authorization, marketing activity that violates applicable UAE rules, or packaging designed to bypass age or licensing controls. Alcoholic beverages are a controlled category in Dubai, and the relevant licensing and authority requirements depend on the activity. If your drink is non alcoholic, see Food & Beverage Packaging Design.

FAQs

Common questions about alcohol packaging

Do you design TTB ready alcohol labels?

Yes, for projects intended for the United States, we can design artwork around the TTB requirements supplied for the product. However, TTB and COLA are United States requirements. They should not be treated as the regulatory framework for a Dubai project. 10turtle does not file COLA applications or guarantee approval.

Do you file alcohol licenses in Dubai?

No. We are a design studio. We can design the packaging around the requirements supplied by your licensing or compliance team. Alcohol licensing, import permissions, product approvals and other regulatory matters remain with the business and the relevant authorities. Dubai legislation contains specific permits for alcohol import, sale, supply and service.

Can you design Arabic and English alcohol labels?

Yes. Where bilingual packaging is required or appropriate, we can build Arabic and English information into the packaging hierarchy. UAE packaging regulations generally require Arabic labeling, subject to the applicable product regulation or instruction. The exact requirements for an alcohol product should be confirmed before final production.

Can you design a custom bottle?

We can develop the visual direction for a custom bottle and coordinate the packaging design around the intended form. The actual glass, metal, closure or other physical component is manufactured by the relevant specialist supplier. We provide the design direction and artwork specifications rather than manufacturing the packaging components.

Can you design premium spirits packaging?

Yes. Premium spirits packaging can include bottle identity, label, neck label, capsule, closure direction, carton, gift box, foil, embossing, specialty papers and premium finishes. The final materials and production methods depend on the manufacturer and budget.

Can you redesign an existing alcohol label?

Yes. A redesign does not always require rebuilding the entire brand. We can retain valuable brand equity while improving shelf visibility, typography, information hierarchy, product differentiation, variant consistency, finishing and production artwork.

Can you design packaging for several alcohol products?

Yes. We can create a system for multiple products, expressions, flavours, sizes or editions, with clear rules for product names, colour, typography, variant coding, information hierarchy, illustration and finishing.

Can you create the print ready files?

Yes. Depending on the project, final packaging artwork can include dielines, bleed, safe areas, colour separation, foil layers, embossing layers, cut lines, print specifications, barcode placement and production notes. The final production specifications should always be checked against the printer or packaging manufacturer's requirements.

Can you help with sustainable alcohol packaging?

Yes. Sustainability can be considered across bottle weight, secondary packaging, cartons, material selection, label materials, packaging size, gift packaging and material reduction. The right solution depends on product protection, manufacturing, transportation and local recovery systems.

Do you design packaging for Dubai hotels, restaurants, retailers and distributors?

Yes. For hospitality brands we can create house wine labels, signature spirit packaging, restaurant or hotel branded products, gift bottles, event packaging and seasonal beverage packaging. For retail and distribution brands we can support label redesign, product range systems, private label products, gift packaging and product information layouts. The final product must meet the applicable licensing, import and labeling requirements before sale.
