WordPress Accessibility Dubai

Build a WordPress website that more people can actually use. Accessibility should not be something added after launch — it should influence design, navigation, typography, color, content, forms, buttons, images, keyboard interaction, screen reader behavior, mobile interaction, theme development, plugin development and testing. 10turtle provides WordPress accessibility services in Dubai and across the UAE, helping businesses improve existing WordPress websites and build accessibility into new websites from the beginning. We work with WCAG principles across design, code, content and quality assurance.

What it is

What is WordPress accessibility?

Make the website usable by people with different abilities. Web accessibility means designing and developing digital experiences that can be used by people with different visual, hearing, motor, cognitive, speech and learning needs — as well as temporary impairments and situational limitations. Accessibility applies to the entire website, not just the code. A technically correct theme can still become inaccessible because of poor content, missing labels, low contrast, unusable forms, poor navigation or inaccessible third-party components.

W3C organizes WCAG around four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable and Robust. WCAG 2.2 is the current W3C recommendation and includes testable success criteria at Levels A, AA and AAA. WordPress developer documentation expects code integrated into the WordPress ecosystem to conform to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA — but your website also contains theme code, plugins, custom blocks, page builder components, content, images, forms, videos and third-party integrations. That is where accessibility problems often appear.

What's included

What a WordPress accessibility engagement includes

Accessibility auditAutomated checks plus human review of navigation, keyboard access, focus, headings, landmarks, forms, labels, contrast, images, links, buttons, multimedia, dynamic content and mobile interaction.
Semantic structureCorrect headings, landmarks and semantic HTML so assistive technology can navigate the interface without guessing at visual layout.
Contrast and focusColor contrast, visible focus states and focus management — including WCAG 2.2 requirements around focus visibility and focus not being obscured.
Forms and labelsAccessible form fields, labels, error messages and instructions so users understand what is required, what went wrong and how to correct it.
Keyboard operationMenus, dropdowns, dialogs, forms, tabs, accordions, search and checkout operable without a mouse — with predictable focus order.
Screen reader supportSemantic structure and careful ARIA so screen readers announce headings, navigation, forms, dialogs and status messages correctly — without noisy over-announcement.
Remediation and documentationFix theme, template, block, plugin and content issues, then document findings, remediation status, known limitations and an accessibility statement where appropriate.
How we work

WordPress accessibility audit process

1Discovery

We understand the website, audience, content, business-critical journeys and technology stack before guessing at fixes.

2Automated assessment

We identify repeatable accessibility issues such as missing labels, contrast problems, invalid markup and missing landmarks.

3Manual review

We test important journeys using keyboard navigation and other appropriate methods that automation cannot fully judge.

4Prioritization

We classify issues by user impact, frequency, business importance and technical complexity — fixing blockers first.

5Remediation

We fix code, components, templates, content and configuration rather than stopping at a report.

6Verification

We retest the website, document remaining issues and leave your team with findings, status and recommendations.

Why it matters

Build a website everyone can use

Your website has one job: help people accomplish something. If someone cannot complete that task because of how the site was designed or developed, the website has failed that user.

More people can complete key tasks

Finding information, completing forms, purchasing, booking and contacting the business work for keyboard and assistive technology users too.

WCAG-aligned remediation

We audit and remediate against applicable WCAG criteria — typically WCAG 2.2 Level AA where appropriate — and document the testing scope.

Accessibility that lasts

Reusable components, content guidelines and regression testing help keep accessibility in place as the website evolves.

Who this is best for

When WordPress accessibility is the right investment

Best fit when usability is the barrier

WordPress websites in Dubai and across the UAE that need WCAG-aligned audits and remediation, accessible themes and components, Arabic or bilingual RTL experiences, accessible ecommerce journeys, or accessibility built into a new website from the beginning.

Another starting point may be better when

The accessibility problems are mostly coming from a heavy or outdated theme — fixing the foundation may start with Custom WordPress Theme Development built accessible from the ground up. Where legal compliance is required, legal advice should come from qualified counsel for the specific jurisdiction.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What is WordPress accessibility?

WordPress accessibility is the work of making a WordPress website usable by people with different abilities — across design, code, content, forms, navigation and testing. It is measured against WCAG principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable and Robust.

Can you make my WordPress website WCAG compliant?

We can audit and remediate the website against the applicable WCAG criteria and document the testing scope. We do not treat an automated scan as proof of complete conformance. For legal compliance, the applicable requirements should be confirmed for the specific business and jurisdiction.

Can you target WCAG 2.2 Level AA?

Yes. WCAG 2.2 Level AA can be used as a technical target where appropriate. The exact scope should be defined before the project begins.

How long does WordPress accessibility remediation take?

The timeline depends on what needs to change. A small website with a few recurring issues may require a focused remediation project. A complex website with a custom theme, many plugins, ecommerce, a large content library and custom JavaScript requires more extensive testing and development. We provide a project-specific plan after the audit.

Can you make Arabic WordPress websites accessible?

Yes. RTL and bilingual behavior can be included in the accessibility review — including text direction, navigation, forms, icons, alignment and mixed Arabic and English content.

Can you include accessibility in a new WordPress website?

Yes. This is often the better approach because accessibility can influence the design and architecture from the beginning.

Can you provide an accessibility statement?

Yes. We can help prepare the technical content and documentation based on the project's actual accessibility work. An accessibility statement is useful documentation — it is not proof that every page meets every requirement.

Can you work with an existing accessibility audit?

Yes. We can review the findings and scope remediation.

Can you maintain accessibility after launch?

Yes. Accessibility can be included in ongoing WordPress maintenance and release testing, including regression testing after theme, plugin and content changes.

Can you make WooCommerce accessible?

Yes. We can review and improve ecommerce accessibility, including the shopping journey and checkout where required.

Can you build accessible WordPress themes and plugins?

Yes. We can build accessible themes, plugins and custom blocks, and improve accessibility in Gutenberg, Elementor and Divi implementations where those are already in use.
