What it is

What is a logo redesign?

A logo redesign updates an existing logo rather than creating a completely new identity from zero. The goal is to preserve the elements that make the logo recognizable while improving the parts that no longer work — shape, geometry, proportion, typography, letterforms, spacing, alignment, colour, scalability, digital performance, small size legibility and print reproduction. The result should still feel connected to the brand people already know.

This is different from logo design from scratch, where there is no established mark to protect. It is also narrower than a brand refresh, which can change the wider colour, typography, imagery, voice and visual system. If your logo is the main problem, a redesign may be enough. If your entire identity feels dated, a Brand Refresh may be the better direction.

What's included

What is included in a logo redesign?

Existing logo assessmentWe examine what people recognize, what should remain, what feels dated, what causes technical problems, where the logo is used, which versions already exist and what needs to improve — protecting value before changing anything.
Logo refinement and redrawRefine curves, angles, proportions, spacing, stroke weight and letter spacing — or redraw the mark while retaining its recognizable foundation for better geometry, vector precision, scalability and digital rendering.
Logo variants and lockupsPrimary, horizontal, stacked, symbol only, wordmark only, monochrome, reversed, light and dark background versions — the exact set depends on where the identity will be used.
Favicon and app iconA simplified small-size version for favicon, app icon, social profile, mobile interface and browser tabs — preserving recognition without forcing every detail into a tiny space.
Legibility testingWe test the redesigned logo across small and large sizes, light, dark and busy backgrounds, digital screens and print applications — refining curves, spacing, weight and lockups based on real use.
Wordmark and symbol workRefine or redesign letterforms, kerning, weight and custom lettering, or simplify symbol shapes, proportions, symmetry and negative space for stronger small-size recognition.
File preparation and handoffOrganized editable vector files, SVG, PDF, PNG and JPG — full colour, monochrome, reversed and small-size versions — plus simple usage guidance where required.
How we work

Logo redesign process

1Existing mark assessment

We review the current logo for recognition, shape, typography, colour, usage, digital and print performance and existing variants — understanding why it needs to change.

2Recognition mapping

We identify the parts that should remain recognizable — symbol, shape, letterform, colour, proportion or the relationship between symbol and wordmark — before deciding what to change.

3Redesign direction

We explore directions ranging from light refinement to deeper redesign, preserving most of the existing construction or rebuilding the mark while retaining important recognition cues.

4Vector refinement and variants

The selected direction is rebuilt as precise vector artwork. We refine curves, geometry, spacing and letterforms, then develop primary, horizontal, stacked, symbol, wordmark, monochrome and reversed versions.

5Small size and legibility testing

We create simplified versions for favicon, app icon and social profiles, then test across sizes, backgrounds and real placements — refining weight, proportion and lockups for actual use.

6File preparation and handoff

We organize final logo files for practical use and provide simple usage guidance covering approved versions, clear space, minimum size, background use and incorrect use where required.

Why it matters

A logo redesign should still feel like you

The strongest logo redesigns do not make customers forget the old identity. They make the existing identity feel more current.

Familiar enough to recognize

Modernize execution while retaining the shape, symbol, letter or colour cues customers already associate with the brand.

Works everywhere it appears

A cleaner mark that performs from favicon and app icon to website, packaging, signage and large-format print.

Organized files to use

Clean vector masters and practical variants so the brand becomes easier to apply across teams and touchpoints.

Who this is best for

The right fit

Best fit when

Your logo looks dated, does not work well digitally, is difficult to read at small sizes, has too many uncontrolled versions, fails on dark backgrounds, feels disconnected from the matured business, or needs to work across UAE, international, digital, ecommerce, apps, packaging and physical locations.

You might not need this

If colour, typography, imagery, social system, website, tone of voice and templates all feel dated, a broader Brand Refresh may be needed. If audience, business model, offer, category or name has changed, a full rebrand — not a logo-only project — is the right starting point.

FAQs

Common questions about logo redesign

What is the difference between a logo redesign and a brand refresh?

A logo redesign focuses on the mark — symbol, wordmark, variants and technical performance. A brand refresh covers the broader brand expression including colour, typography, imagery, layouts, voice, templates and guidelines. If only the logo is the problem, redesign may be enough.

Will a redesign lose our brand recognition?

A good redesign identifies recognition cues — shape, symbol, distinctive letter, colour or proportion — before changing anything. The goal is familiar enough to recognize, new enough to feel current.

Can you keep our existing colours?

Yes. A logo redesign can focus on the symbol and wordmark while retaining the existing colour palette. We will also flag situations where the existing colour creates a technical or visual problem with the redesigned mark.

Can you redesign only the symbol or only the wordmark?

Yes. If the wordmark is already working, the project can focus on the symbol. If the symbol has strong recognition but the typography feels dated, a focused wordmark redesign may be enough. The final relationship between symbol and wordmark will still need to be tested.

Can you make our logo work as an app icon or favicon?

Yes. We can create a simplified icon derived from the redesigned identity for app icons, and a small-size version where the original contains too much detail for favicon scale.

Can you create a responsive logo system?

Yes. A responsive logo system uses different versions at different sizes and contexts — for example symbol plus wordmark in large space, a simplified lockup in medium space, and symbol only in small space.

Can you redesign a logo without changing our brand?

Yes. That is one of the main reasons to use this service. The objective is to improve the mark while preserving the broader brand recognition.

Do you redesign logos in Arabic?

Yes. We can develop Arabic, English or bilingual logo systems depending on the brand and intended market. Arabic typography and composition should be considered as part of the identity rather than treated as a direct translation after the English logo is complete.

Can you recreate a low resolution logo?

Yes. If you only have a low resolution image, we can use it as a reference and rebuild the mark as clean vector artwork. The exact fidelity depends on the quality of the reference.

What files do you receive?

Depending on scope, final delivery can include vector master files, SVG, PDF, PNG, JPG, full colour, monochrome, reversed, horizontal, stacked, symbol only and small size icon versions.

Do you provide a logo usage guide?

Yes. For a focused logo redesign, simple usage notes can cover approved versions, clear space, minimum size, background use, colour use and incorrect use. A complete brand guideline document covering the wider identity can be scoped separately.

Can you redesign a logo that was not created by you?

Yes. We can work with an existing logo regardless of who originally designed it, provided the project has the necessary rights and source materials.

How much should a logo change?

A useful redesign can range from light refinement of geometry and spacing, through moderate redesign that keeps the concept recognizable, to a deeper redraw that retains important recognition cues. The right level depends on the strength of the current logo and the reason for the redesign.

When do we need a full rebrand instead?

A logo redesign is probably not the right starting point if your target audience, business model, core offer or market positioning has changed, you entered a new category, merged or acquired, your company name no longer fits, or customers misunderstand what you do. Those are strategic problems rather than logo problems.
